I am re watching Miami Vice. There’s so many of these and 1000SELs etc.. obviously the cars of choice amongst criminals in 80s Miami.Needs the full, wide body and slammed look - https://www.instagram.com/rude.benz/

Very 1980'sSome of the body kits were very OTT!
Yes indeed. Whilst I don’t like this colour /wheels etc I quite liked the gull wing conversions! SGS who did a load of the very extensive customisations, is apparently open for business again!Very 1980's
Big Hair, Big Shoulder Pads etc
Missed that!Jaguar XJR-15 in the background??
@erics update for you. I just had surgery so out of circulation for a bit. Sending a local Merc expert in on my behalf and have given him your list on top of his own list. There was a lot of overlap so I think I am in good hands! Will see what he says.
Many thanks. Will revert.sounds good. If the car had been in Europe, I would have said corrosion would have been my main concern but unlikely to be a problem at all on this one. This being said in Asia, I would be super nervous about bodywork, repairs, fillers and or the car car being clocked. Please do keep us posted.
Oh and the rear suspension of course. These cars only look good on factory ride height which is a bit higher than modern standards. Will try and dig a pic.
So @erics my man reported back. Whilst he reported overall good health he reckons it needs a lot spending on it:
1. Pockets of rust and multiple minor paint repairs/filler as you mentioned.
2. Fuel lines corroded and need replacing
3. He thinks engine mounts are shot - significant vibration.
4. Very smoky - difficult to tell without opening up the engine. Valve seals maybe?
5. Normal wear and tear inside and headlining in good shape. He says wood looks original and is fine. Some switches need TLC/replacing which I guess will be expensive.
6. Wheels he believes are original but appear to have had a lot of repairs over the years.
7. Spare wheel ok and wheel well ok.
8. Rear suspension in need of a full overhaul as you suggested.
A few other things but this sounds like some big bills ahead and getting parts to HK not the easiest or cheapest.
Really appreciate your (and others) input.
No I am passing given the work involved. Given the extreme humidity here rust can be a problem on older cars particularly if cars are left outside.so you are buying it?
I am surprised about the rust on a HK car.
For me, i would rather pay more money, maybe 2x or even 3x this price and get a proper car in the first place.
