Absolutely brilliant. Completely missed this thread as I was poncing around in the Himalayas in October and didn't even get to Everest base camp.

One of my friends from our cycle trip is keen to do this in 2014, and tired to convince me...................................no f..king way!!

I am told that a swim in August or September can be quite a nice temperature..... If you do give it a try - stay outta October!!

NO. I know my limitations, and keen to do more long distant cycling, but for me swimming will definately be limited to considerably warmer climates.

Gosh! I’d like to say I’d almost forgotten about that. But it’s etched into my brain (and body!). Where does time go, eh?

I’d organise a relay if anyone was up for it. But you HAVE to know that you would forever be known as a Channel RELAY Swimmer. And that really don’t cut the mustard! But I’d never call it out…..much!!!
